Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, promote special offers, and thank every guest for shopping.
Maintain a clean, organized, and merchandised store environment to facilitate sales and guest loyalty.
Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system, providing receipts and top‑notch service.
Handle phone calls professionally, escalating issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefit programs (new‑title reservations, trade‑in, Pro Rewards).
Assist the Store Manager in training and coaching store associates, ensuring they meet company and guest service expectations.
Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and document evaluations in Workday/HR system.
Ensure onboarding and compliance training for all associates before independent shifts.
Schedule associates, manage breaks, and supervise staffing levels to maximize guest service.
Approve payroll entries, manage paid time off, and verify accurate compensation for all associates.
Inspect the store for cleanliness, merchandising standards, and equipment functionality.
Fulfill and ship omni‑channel orders daily.
Conduct inventory control, loss prevention, and physical asset protection.
Support sales, profit, and shrink goals while completing administrative duties.
Perform daily inventory counts, restock merchandise, and maintain floor organization.
Reconcile daily business transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash balances.
Verify shipments, process defectives/recalls, and record discrepancies in the POS system.
Maintain safety awareness, report injuries promptly, and address hazardous situations.
Manage store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date.
Delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence.
Adhere to all GameStop policies, opening/closing procedures, and the Associate Handbook.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Minimum age of 18 years.
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 30 lbs.; climb ladders when necessary.
