Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 3432)

Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations, developing and promoting a sales culture, and providing outstanding guest service experiences.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, recommend items, and thank guests for shopping.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales.
Process guest purchases and return transactions using POS, ensuring accurate changes, receipts, and top‑notch service.
Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, escalating customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
Promote GameStop’s unique guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with training, coaching, and evaluating store associates, providing timely feedback and documentation in Workday.
Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure all associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training before opening or closing shifts.
Schedule and supervise store associates, maintaining adequate staffing and ensuring compliance with scheduling guidelines.
Approve payroll, enter paid time off, and verify proper payment for all time worked.
Maintain store cleanliness, merchandised per guidelines, and equipment functionality.
Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
Protect company assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposit procedures.
Support the store team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals while completing administrative duties.
Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure all products are represented and organized.
Reconcile daily business transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash and change accurately.
Verify shipments for discrepancies, record in POS, and communicate issues to the Store Manager or District Manager.
Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
Maintain safety awareness, identify hazards, and report injuries promptly.
Maintain organized store records/files and update manuals as needed.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Adhere to GameStop policies, procedures, and the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Minimum 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Clear verbal and written communication, including bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days per week).
Adapt to pressure and handle stressful situations creatively.
Be reliable, trustworthy, and use good judgment.
Work alone, stand and move throughout the store up to 12 hours per day.
Lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground level to 4 feet high.
Acquire understanding of military ranks for positions on military bases (if applicable).
