JFT is growing and looking for a talented Director of Quality to join our team in Loveland, CO. The anticipated closing date for this posting is 2/28/26 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Function: The Director of Quality is responsible for managing all Quality, Environmental Safety and Health issues, as well as ensuring all requirements of JFT's ESH&Q program are adhered to.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead a talented team of QC professionals in the performance of important QA/QC activities needed to deliver JFT's mission.
Support the review, design, and implementation of an integrated ISO 9001:2015, NQA-1, ASME Section III and Section VIII QMS, and OSHA health and safety program.
Act as Management Representative for ISO 9001 QMS including:
Ensuring QMS processes are established, implemented and maintained.
Reporting QMS performance and improvement needs to leadership.
Promoting awareness of customer requirements throughout JFT.
Work closely with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Licensing, and Operations Teams to ensure activities affecting quality are identified and implemented.
Participate in industry and regulator-led activities related to nuclear quality assurance.
Attend Production and Pre-Manufacturing Meetings.
Support project planning meetings and proposal estimates.
Support ESH&Q elements of Proposal Development.
Provide external support to customers in relation to ESH&Q requirements.
Conduct internal audits in accordance with the JFT Internal Audit program and conduct external supplier audits in accordance with the JFT Supplier Evaluation program.
Lead investigations of product and process non-conformances and corrective action reports.
Provide support to project teams in relation to ESH&Q and documentation requirements.
Maintain OSHA 300A logs.
Conduct and arrange planned HSE activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering, or equivalent experience such as a Senior Reactor Operator License or the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Working knowledge of weld inspection, dimensional, and mechanical inspection methods.
NQA-1 Lead Auditor is preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel to vendor facilities.
Working knowledge of commercial grade dedication.
Minimum 5 years experience with implementation of QA programs, including familiarity with requirements such as ISO 9001, NQA-1, ASME Section III, Nuclear Regulatory Commission QA regulations, commercial nuclear power industry quality standards, and military QA specifications.
Minimum 3 years QA experience applying NQA-1 and associated codes, standards and supplementary requirements.
Typical Working Conditions: The Director of Quality will work in a fabrication environment as well as an office environment. The fabrication shop may involve exposure to heavy machinery, welding operations, and metal or plastic fabrication processes. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment. JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk throughout the shop floor, and move between workstations. Bending, kneeling, and crouching may be required during inspections. May involve lifting and carrying objects, typically up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to use hand tools and inspection equipment that may require physical strength. Manual dexterity is essential for handling small parts, tools, and precision instruments. Vision, including color perception, depth perception, and the ability to focus on small details is required. The ability to hear instructions, alarms, or equipment sounds that indicate potential issues is necessary. This position requires sustained concentration to ensure detailed inspections and accurate measurements. Must be able to work on a computer, use standard office equipment, and be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors.
