All About Property Management Property Management (PM) supports a profitable business by ensuring assets are well‑maintained, functional, and that services are completed on time while minimizing vendor costs. PM maintains physical assets, mitigates excess spend, supports remodels, executes new projects, and enables efficient store operations.
Responsibilities
Work with vendors to ensure timely completion of their work.
Identify and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on all building assets and equipment.
Influence store teams to align project work with PM priorities and financial goals.
Work with plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, life‑safety power systems, and electrical equipment.
Understand repair versus replace and manage cost.
Complete work within compliance standards and Target guidelines.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building assets.
Inform and engage store leadership on property‑management workload priorities.
Lead and demonstrate best‑practice execution, coaching, and skill development.
Use technology to create and prioritize work orders.
With PM Business Partner guidance, evaluate store brand and ensure assets and vendor performance meet maintenance standards.
Assist in executing special projects, remodels, and supporting PM asset and service strategies.
Ensure internal and external work orders are completed efficiently and vendors are accountable.
Assist in managing emergency situations with store and field leaders.
Follow safety procedures, use PPE, and identify safety hazards.
Teach and train store team on safety procedures.
Demonstrate inclusivity, respect diverse voices, and create equitable experiences.
Greet guests during daily tasks.
Perform any other duties as needed.

Training & Skills Needed

Basic technical skills and general experience working with property assets.
1–2 years of technical education preferred in electrical, mechanical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, or related experience.
Proficiency operating power tools, HVAC, wet/dry vacuum, and other powered equipment.
Strong vendor‑relationship skills, ensuring accountability and quality results.
Effective communication skills and ability to use technology.
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently while supporting store teams.
Remain focused and composed in fast‑paced environments and meet timeframes.
Additional Physical Expectations
Climb up and down ladders.
Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely; lift or move up to 40 lbs.
Flexible work schedule (night, weekend, holiday) with prompt attendance.
Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
Remain mobile during scheduled shift.
