Position Location: 301 Travis Ln, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: FULLTIME 3rd Shift: 12AM-8:30AM (M-F)

CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO TRAIN ON 1ST (M-F) 7AM – 3:30PM

Position Wage: Starting at $18 per hour (plus based on experience)

Job Description The Laboratory Technician is responsible for collaborating with all other Quality functions, providing resources and assistance, and ensuring the consistent flow of product through the 305 Lab Work Center.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Perform metallurgical evaluations to determine the microstructure and case depth of heat treated samples

Actively manage the labs to complete all lab work within 24 hours of receipt

Ensure the accuracy of the Lab cell in Bluestreak

Generate well written and thorough certificates of heat-treating

Metallurgical Evaluations

Section samples for evaluation

Coordinate with Mechanical Outsourcing the outsourcing of parts that are too large to section internally

Sand and polish samples

Perform micro hardness testing

Determine case depths for case hardened work

Evaluate the microstructural components of samples

Generate photographs of sample microstructures

Enter all results into Bluestreak and various areas in the system

Perform basic maintenance on all lab equipment

Calibrate the microhardness tester

Monitor and maintain lab supplies

Verify tags are accurate and complete

Replace tags as required to prepare for shipping

Maintain test pin archive and dispose of old test pins in a timely manner

Manage the Lab/Mechanical area to ensure all available lab samples are evaluated within 24 hours of receipt

Maintain the accuracy of all mechanical outsource cells daily

Prepare items for Transfer between different ThermTech work centers

Generate, fill out, and assist in the investigation of Non-Conformances

Coordinate with Internal Customers to ensure due dates are met and information flows to concerned individuals

Communicate with External Customers when needed

Ensure lab organization and cleanliness

Minimum Requirements All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.

Education High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

Previous laboratory and/or heat treat experience considered a plus
