Peer Support Specialist I

RI International . The position supports individuals on their recovery journey, providing peer support, recovery training, and advocacy.
Base Pay Range $17.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
Provide peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and assist in identifying participant hopes and dreams.
Teach recovery and life skills using recovery tools.
Model hope, personal responsibility and self‑advocacy.
Assist in developing natural supports and community living.
Cultivate connectedness in the person’s life and purpose.
Complete clinical documentation as required.
Keep abreast of federal, state regulations and Recovery Innovations policies.
Coordinate with clinical team to arrange services or resources to help individuals achieve goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid Peer Support Certification.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Lived experience requiring mental health and/or substance use services.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to teach recovery information and tools.
Effective communication skills.
Pass de‑escalation training as defined by state requirements.
Must be able to pass a seven‑year background check, substance abuse testing, and obtain required fingerprinting clearance.
Must be at least 18 years old (or meet state requirements).

Job Details Position: Peer Support Specialist I Job Type: Full‑Time / Non‑Exempt Shift: Rotating schedule, nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (every other weekend off) Location: Crisis – Franklin County Crisis Care Center, Columbus, Ohio
