Job Summary The Labor and Delivery RN provides professional nursing care to all patients in the Fetal Diagnostic Center and Labor and Delivery units, performing assessments, acuity assignments, and following standard of care using the Nursing Process. The RN may also supervise other nursing personnel and/or students.
Responsibilities
Manage efficient patient flow, including screening and preparation for exams.
Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (compact license accepted).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery acute care experience (2+ years preferred; high‑acuity L&D experience a plus).
