Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was created through a collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Lead Nurse, deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Guide patient teaching, nursing activities, and ancillary personnel.
Promote a customer‑friendly environment and provide superior service to youth, facility staff, family, and outside vendors.
Required Qualifications
Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia.
Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a clinical setting.
Good organizational and decision‑making skills; good physical and mental health; ability to work under pressure.
Ability to relate well to patients, security staff, visitors, and co‑workers.
Functions within the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.
Current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification obtained through American Heart or Red Cross Program.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, normal bending, reaching, stooping; standing and sitting for long periods; quick movement in emergencies (within 4 minutes); normal hearing and vision, with corrective appliances if necessary.
Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
