Adult Surgical Trauma Med-Surg Unit Surgical Trauma (4 North) is a dynamic and high-energy unit, dedicated to the care of individuals experiencing multi-system traumatic injuries. Some of these injuries can include open wounds, fractures requiring surgical fixation, internal organ trauma, complex abdominal surgeries, liver and bowel resections, and necrotizing fasciitis. Our team of healthcare professionals are individually, and specialty trained to operate swiftly and decisively. They do so by assessing the needs of patients and intervening with precision and efficiency.
4 North thrives on collaboration with the multidisciplinary team including social work, case management, occupational/physical therapies, and providers. All work seamlessly together, combining diverse expertise to provide the best care, designed for our patients.

Unit Culture:
Supportive team environment - the team teaches each other and provides a wonderful learning environment
Support from leadership for experienced nurses
Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
