Paramedic, PT, Nights, Emergency – Texas Health Resources Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022.

Work hours: Part Time, Night Shift (7p to 7a), 2 shifts, 24 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Complete benefits available.

The professional paramedic exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations.

What You Will Do

Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient

Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs

Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices

Cervical collar management

External defibrillation

Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application

Oral airway insertion and removal

Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access

Draw blood from ports

Other duties as assigned by RN

Here’s What You Need

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred

EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or

LP - Licensed Paramedic

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days of hire required

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only), within 60 days of hire required.
