Certified Surgical Technologist / CST – Full Time, Weekend Days
Texas Health Resources is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to work Full Time (36 hours) during Weekend Day Shifts (6:30 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday with one weekday). The position is located at Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, Texas 76022.
Responsibilities
Display intra‑operative skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcomes.
Assist RN circulator and nursing process for peri‑operative care of infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
Pre‑operatively assist RN circulator in formulating plan of care.
Coordinate patient care peri‑operatively and maintain professional standards for nursing practice.
Post‑operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment; assist RN circulator with post‑operative duties under supervision.
Assist in infection prevention to minimize risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
Assist in delivering care that protects the patient from injury.
Contribute to continuous improvement, emphasizing quality, service, and cost effectiveness.
Demonstrate competence in age‑specific care for a diverse patient population.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and prior practice of surgical technology before September 1, 2009 (OR). 1 year current operating‑room experience highly preferred.
Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program, or military training program in surgical technology.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA or TS‑C (NCCT).
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) upon hire.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
