Altus Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to perform routine clinical and clerical tasks under physician direction. Clinical duties include taking vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, processing prescription refills, and assisting with minor procedures as directed. The CMA serves as a practice ambassador, enhancing patient experience, safety, and privacy. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED BLS Certification approved by AHA Medical Assistant Certification: NHA, NCCT, AMT, AAMA, NCMA, AMCA, AECA, or NAHP At least 6 months of relevant experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Skills
Phlebotomy and EKG Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems Scheduling Requirements
Shift: 8am - 5:00pm Full Time Essential Functions
Perform clinical tasks such as EKG, hearing and vision screens, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, medication administration, treatments, and minor surgeries as needed. Support practice needs with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting copays, preparing lab requests, and other clerical tasks as assigned. Communicate with insurance providers and handle pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary. Prepare rooms, arrange instruments and equipment, ensure a neat and sanitary environment. Rooms patients, verify patient information, confirm purpose of visit, obtain and record vitals and update medical history. Communicate with patients and other providers per the instruction of the overseeing physician. Create and maintain health record information, file and organize as needed. Benefits and Perks
