Job Description Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and competency standards. Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations as well as hospital policies. Performs post‑analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical and support information for all age groups. Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and support education for clinical staff as appropriate or requested. Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluating new equipment and procedures. Adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, protecting patient information confidentiality. Follows safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and demonstrates understanding of the Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies. Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing initial and refresher training for proper handling and disposal. Assists in new employee training and orientation. Answers the telephone and performs clerical and receptionist duties to support department operations. Maintains workspaces in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner, storing and safeguarding documentation and paperwork. Performs pre‑analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range $23.78 - $44.22
