Renaissance Historic Exteriors is seeking a
Working Assistant Project Manager
to support active historic restoration and roofing projects. This is a hands‑on, field‑engaged role designed for someone who thrives on jobsite coordination, crew support, and real‑time problem solving—not a desk‑only position.
Position Overview The Working Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers and field crews by maintaining daily jobsite operations, coordinating materials and subcontractors, monitoring quality and safety, and ensuring projects move forward efficiently. This role requires regular jobsite presence and direct interaction with crews, vendors, inspectors, and clients.
Work Location & Schedule
Primary Location: Field‑based; projects throughout Fenton, MO and the St. Louis metro area
Field Requirement: Approximately 70–80% of work time spent on active jobsites
Schedule: Full‑time; hours may vary based on project needs, weather, and schedules
Compensation
Pay Type: Hourly, Non‑Exempt
Pay Range: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour
Starting rate is based on relevant construction experience, field capability, certifications, and demonstrated ability to perform the role.
This Position Is Eligible For
Overtime pay in accordance with federal and state law.
Performance‑based increases.
Mileage reimbursement or vehicle stipend (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities Field Execution & Jobsite Support
Maintain consistent jobsite presence to support crews and subcontractors.
Assist with daily work planning, sequencing, and issue resolution.
Verify work is progressing per plans, specifications, and historic standards.
Crew & Subcontractor Coordination
Communicate daily expectations and priorities.
Assist with subcontractor coordination, onboarding, and site orientation.
Help resolve scope, scheduling, or performance concerns in the field.
Materials, Equipment & Logistics
Verify materials are delivered correctly and on time.
Coordinate staging, storage, and protection of specialty or historic materials.
Assist with equipment scheduling and mobilization.
Quality Control & Historic Standards
Perform routine inspections of work in progress.
Identify workmanship issues early and report to Project Manager.
Assist with punch lists and corrective actions.
Safety & Compliance
Monitor PPE use and general jobsite safety practices.
Support job hazard analysis and safety documentation.
Report unsafe conditions immediately.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete daily field reports and photo documentation.
Track manpower, production progress, and weather impacts.
Assist with documenting field changes and potential change orders.
Schedule & Production Support
Track daily and weekly production.
Identify schedule risks and communicate proactively.
Assist with short‑term look‑ahead planning.
Professional Representation
Interact professionally with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders.
Support site walks, inspections, and owner meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Construction experience required; project coordination or field leadership experience preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, active jobsite environment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Valid driver’s license required.
Experience in historic restoration, roofing, slate, tile, copper, or specialty construction is a strong plus but not required.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders or scaffolding as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Ability to work in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, and uneven terrain.
