About This Role FiberTel is hiring a Project Assistant for our Portland, OR office. This entry‑level position will perform administrative tasks, assist the Project Manager with customer account management, track job progress, handle billing and invoicing, and support other duties as needed.
What You’ll Do
Process account billing and invoicing promptly.
Communicate with customers via phone or email.
Update job information in the customer tracking system.
Upload and monitor job information and progress.
Coordinate project timelines with internal departments.
Monitor project timelines and deadlines.
Accommodate updates and changes to project schedules.
Document project billing processes and maintain records.
Assist with other administrative duties when necessary.
Qualifications
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Effective communication skills with customers and employees.
Associate’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
Prior construction experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, and applicable engineering programs.
Strong written and oral communication.
Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain the required license.
Working Conditions This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. Routine use of standard office equipment; occasional time outside the office meeting clients or checking vehicles.
Physical Requirements Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, speaking, hearing, climbing stairs or ladders. Occasional reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. May lift up to 75 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
