Supervisor, Ophthalmic Imaging – Palm Beach Gardens, FL Join us at the University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, for a full‑time opportunity to supervise ophthalmic imaging at our Palm Beach Gardens location.

Core Job Functions

Provides day‑to‑day direction to ophthalmic photographer and echographer staff in assigned support areas.

Adjusts daily schedules based on patient volume, available staffing and clinical workflow.

Responds to clinical and patient demands to maintain efficient staff utilization and consistent patient flow.

Prepares staffing assignments, including accommodations for clinical research study patients.

Possesses broad clinical experience to supervise and perform ophthalmic imaging evaluations as needed.

Manages equipment and capital assets: maintenance, software upgrades, purchase requests, installations, retirement, inventory assessment and replacement planning.

Maintains a strong understanding of clinical information systems supporting technical functions.

Manages interview, hire and onboarding of new imaging staff.

Mentors staff to foster growth and development opportunities.

Identifies training needs and provides training to maintain competency.

Monitors staff productivity and performance goals.

Ensures clinical areas meet patient and physician needs according to accepted standards of care.

Establishes and continuously assesses internal controls and compliance with University policies and procedures.

Ensures employees are trained on controls and University policies.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a relevant field.

Certification: OCT‑C and CRA.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge of business and management principles.

Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.

Ability to effectively plan, delegate, supervise, lead, motivate, develop and train others.
