Quality Assurance Technician

Company Overview ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area offering rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands‑on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.
Job Summary Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. seeks a full‑time Quality Technician to support quality requirements for incoming and outgoing materials and products.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform inspections of materials, purchased parts, and internally made parts.
Document all inspection results using visual, dimensional methods and standards on company documentation forms.
Review specifications and drawings to understand product requirements.
Reject incoming materials that fail to meet quality expectations and report the issue to the concerned department.
Communicate and help resolve quality‑related issues while adhering to project deadlines.
Assist in developing inspection standards and processes.
Assist with the coordination of calibrated equipment.
Recommend improvement measures to processes to ensure quality control standards are met.
Generate Nonconformance Reports or Corrective Actions when required.
Assist with updates to the Quality Management System and participate in internal and external audits.
Work with multiple departments to support production and increase awareness of quality requirements.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements
US Citizen.
Proficiency and experience with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Technical hands‑on capability with attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
3+ years of experience.
Desired Skills/Experience
ISO 9001/AS 9100D.
J-STD-001 and/or WHMA/IPC-A-620 machining experience.
Experience with composites fabrication.
Experience with aircraft avionics.
Technical writing: build guides, schematics, wiring diagrams, reporting/reviewing, etc.
Experience with parts and inventory management.
