Essential Job Functions
Visually inspect Rigid and Flex PCB assemblies with SMT and/or through-hole components to IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 standards, per the Manufacturing Order (MO), routing, assembly drawings, work instructions, deviations, quality alerts and other documentation. Accurately identify common defects such as cold solder joints, excessive solder balls, misaligned components, foreign object debris (FOD), voids, tombstoning, physically damaged components, solder bridging, insufficient solder, improper reflow, reversed components, nonwetting, polarity issues, bent/misaligned leads, etc. Proficiently utilize tools to inspect PCB assemblies which may include microscopes, x-ray machine, micrometers, precision rulers, digital camera, calipers, pin gauges, multimeter, proper lighting, and other tools. Document findings utilizing various computer applications and traveler forms. Visually inspect cable assemblies that utilize soldered and/or crimped terminations to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 standards, per the Manufacturing Order (MO), routing, assembly drawings, work instructions, deviations, quality alerts, pull-test results, and other documentation. Perform testing on cable assemblies to verify connectivity utilizing the CableEye test system. This involves selecting an appropriate test board fixture, plugging the cable into the fixture, and performing the test via the associated computer application. Perform firmware and MAC address verification on finished good electronic assemblies utilizing VISION software. Utilize drawings and specifications to perform receiving inspections on various custom and off-the-shelf wire/multiconductor cabling, raw PCBs, labels, components, and any other item designated for inspection. Perform inspections on repaired RMA/Damaged products and document findings utilizing various computer applications and traveler forms. Qualifications
Vast proficiency and experience with QA inspection of electronic assemblies, cable/wire harness assemblies, and components. Advanced understanding of IPC soldering and assembly standards. Certification is a plus. Ability to read and properly interpret assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), work instructions, pick lists, routings, manufacturing orders (MO), and other documentation that specifies build, inspection, and testing steps.
