Title: EVS Associate – PRN – 2nd Shift – Battle Creek
Job Overview Under supervision of the environmental services manager, the environmental service technician maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures. Assignments include cleaning of patient rooms, public areas, surgical areas, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. The role includes patient and client service and follows regulatory requirements. Work is audited for accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
Work independently and communicate effectively in English.
Represent Bronson with professionalism and excellent customer service.
Accept delegation and negotiate task priorities.
Follow isolation procedures and comply with CDC, OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, and internal policies.
Perform cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, operating rooms, and ancillary areas following the Environmental Services Department Manual.
Operate mechanical floor equipment such as iMops, vacuums, sweepers, and UV disinfection equipment.
Maintain supplies, cleanliness of equipment, and coordinate with department staff.
Document and record cleaning tasks, restock supplies, and communicate requests as needed.
Handle biomedical waste, recycling, and trash disposal as per facility protocols.
Assist with laundry duties when assigned.
Work safely, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and using equipment such as stepladders to four feet.
Participate in staff meetings, huddles, and the Bronson Management System.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED not required (effective April 19, 2021).
Michigan driver's license and insurability may be required (BBC only).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and operate equipment.
Good balance and ability to use stepladders.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under time pressure.
Good communication skills in English.
