Your Impact
Serve as Project Manager for highway and roadway design-build projects, from pursuit through final delivery
Lead multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate closely with construction partners in a design-build environment
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality in accordance with Lochner’s project management procedures
Act as the primary point of contact with NCDOT, FHWA, contractors, and subconsultants
Ensure compliance with NCDOT standards, manuals, DB contracts, DB guidelines, and federal regulations
Oversee design development, technical reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts
Support design-build pursuits, including technical approach development, staffing plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies
Mentor and develop engineering staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
Promote Lochner’s culture of safety, quality, and integrity on all projects
Who You Are
Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
10+ years of transportation engineering experience
Demonstrated project management experience on highway design-build projects
Strong working knowledge of NCDOT policies, procedures, and design criteria
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with contractors in alternative delivery environments
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-relationship skills
Willingness to travel within North Carolina as project needs require
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on NCDOT design-build projects
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Experience supporting or leading design-build pursuits and proposals
Familiarity with alternative delivery methods (CM/GC, P3)
PMP certification
Experience on large-scale roadway, interchange, or corridor projects
