Ground Torch Cutter Supervisor

SA Recycling is looking for a responsible Ground Cutter Supervisor for our Brownsville Yard. In this position you will be responsible for supervising all torch cutters and creating assignments for all. You will overlook projects and ensure it is being completed correctly and safely. The Torch Cutter is responsible for the cutting of metal to make a manageable product by using an oxy-fuel torch cutting system. We are looking for people that only have experience cutting with a 6 feet torch.
Job Duties
Setting up the cutting area for Hot Work Policy, Emergency Action Plan, and efficient cutting production
Setup Oxy-fuel station position, regulator adjustments, hose safety and torch condition
Change out compressed gas cylinders when required
Wear the required PPE
Maintenance and housekeeping of the entire torch cutting area
Inspect the safety of the equipment
Use common cutting techniques that conserve torch parts and maximize production
Clean up work area at the end of shift
Keep work areas neat and orderly
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members
Job Expectations
Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
Experience Cutting with a 6 feet Torch is required.
You will only be cutting metal material with a 6 feet Torch.
Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Scrap metal Recycling and torch cutting area
Equipment & Tools: Oxy-fuel Torch Cutting equipment, mechanics tools
Physical Demand Level: Moderate to Heavy
Work Capacity: Torch Cutter Work Capacity
Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, touch, smell and taste
Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, gripping
