United Talent is currently seeking an experienced
Torch Operator / Scrap Metal Cutter
to join a local recycling and metal processing facility. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands‑on torch cutting experience and a strong commitment to safety. This position plays a key role in processing and preparing scrap metal for recycling, ensuring materials are properly cut, sorted, and handled in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate oxy‑fuel and plasma cutting torches to cut, shape, and dismantle scrap metal.
Identify metal types and determine appropriate cutting methods.
Sort and separate ferrous and non‑ferrous metals for recycling.
Maintain and clean torch equipment, hoses, and regulators.
Adhere to OSHA and company safety procedures; wear PPE at all times.
Monitor work areas for hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials for processing or shipment.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines.
Shifts & Pay:
Pay Rate:
$19–$20 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of torch cutting experience required.
Knowledge of torch operation, oxygen/acetylene safety, and metal identification.
Basic welding experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to follow work instructions and safety protocols.
Physically able to lift heavy materials, work outdoors, and stand for extended periods.
Reliable and safety‑conscious with strong attention to detail.
