Job Responsibilities A Customer Service Representative supporting Dental Services provides front‑office and administrative support for the Macon‑Bibb County Health Department. This role delivers customer service to patients both in person and by phone, schedules appointments, processes forms and payments, enters data, and maintains accurate records. Additional responsibilities include preparing routine correspondence, attending staff meetings and training sessions, and supporting daily clinic operations. This position is primarily assigned to the Dental Clinic and works under the general supervision of the Dentist.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Answer phones, book appointments, and call to confirm appointments.
Portray a positive image and engage in professional and friendly communications with clients to meet their needs in a timely manner.
Complete requisitions and submit them to the dentist.
Maintain and submit monthly reports as requested by the dentist.
Maintain patient’s HIPAA rights and confidentiality.
Communicate message(s) to other staff in a dependable, clear, and efficient manner.
Facilitate day‑to‑day operation of the MBCHD Dental Clinic under the management of the Dentist.
Work in partnership with Business Support Analyst to manage insurance payments.
Performs additional professional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED.
Two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of general office or administrative experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong computer and internet skills (MS Office suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to work independently, multi‑task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare setting, verifying patient information and scheduling appointments.
