PM Technician – Preventive Maintenance Technician
TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company that has been in business since 1946. Based out of Savannah, GA, the company operates more than 1,500 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors, 800+ specialty trailers, and a fleet of heavy equipment. The PM Technician will maintain Class 8 trucks, terminal tractors, delivery trucks, pickup trucks, automobiles, and heavy equipment across TICO’s locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use precision‑measuring instruments and power tools to inspect and maintain trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance by changing fluids and filters, lubricating moving parts, and detecting potential failures of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and structural components.
Inspect engine, brakes, transmission, boom cylinders, fifth wheel, axle driveline, and other critical systems.
Check all fluid levels, belts, lighting, and safety devices, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Conduct routine oil changes and parts lubrication per schedule.
Carry out minor replacements, repairs, and adjustments as needed.
Drive trucks to verify performance and conformance to specifications.
Detect and report unusual noises or operational issues while operating equipment.
Submit required job completion paperwork to the Shop Manager.
Requirements
At least one year of diesel or mechanical repair experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Must own personal tools.
Ability to pass a drug test.
