Job Summary The New Business Manager is responsible for supervising a team of Life New Business Representatives. This position ensures work is properly allocated and completed accurately and timely, assists with escalations and high-value cases, and works with the Director of Operations and Chief Distribution Officer to ensure the Life New Business team meets customer expectations. The role oversees life new business activities, provides training on procedures, systems, carriers and products, and assists in evaluating, improving and implementing new business procedures, systems and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities

Case management by evaluating caseload assignments, case reviews, and monitoring to assure quality and timing standards are met, including employee training and evaluations, and weekly/monthly management reporting.

Relationship building by facilitating periodic calls and meetings with carriers and vendors to assure standards are being met; works closely with agents and wholesalers to provide communications and ensure service standards are adhered to.

Handles escalated situations with insurance agents, wholesalers, vendors and insurance carriers to ensure appropriate resolution.

Responsible for creating and maintaining new business work procedures, policies, workflows, reporting and work schedules.

Maintains constant communication and partnership with Life Sales Leadership to ensure excellent service is provided to customers.

Assists with high-value or escalated cases by providing assistance and/or coverage on employees' books of business; reviews new business applications to ensure they are in good order, follows up with carriers and communicates ongoing with agents.

Primary Skills & Requirements

Knowledge of Contact Management systems.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Strong management skills, including ability to coordinate and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Acts in compliance with department, company, and industry standards.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Embraces fast pace, demanding work environment.

Embraces teamwork but is also able to work independently.

Follow and abide by HIPAA guidelines.

Must have 1–2 years of leadership experience; management experience preferred.

2–4 years of Life Insurance experience.

Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Active Life insurance license or ability to obtain an insurance license within the first six months of employment.
