Electrical Construction Project Manager – Experience in Healthcare Construction Projects

General Position Summary

– Adams Electric Company is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate Project Manager. Join our outstanding team of skilled project managers and our operations team to build exciting projects that leave a lasting imprint on the community for future generations.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the management of assigned projects, ensuring installation, performance, profitability, and value addition across multiple projects.

Execute all work within established timeframes, complying with quality standards, projected man‑hours, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Schedule, participate in, and/or conduct project meetings.

Manage project supervisors and workers in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit a qualified and skilled workforce.

Pre‑Construction

Plan, prepare, and administer contracts; execute and direct project activities; develop and maintain client relationships.

Set up jobs: create cost budgets, schedules of values, re‑estimates, review and execute subcontracts, and manage purchase orders with accurate BOMs.

Price and procure subcontractor packages, ensuring scope consistency with drawings, specs, and bid packages.

Price and procure major material packages, particularly Switchgear, Lighting, and Commodities.

Manage submittal processes related to the scope of work.

VDC/BIM

Provide general oversight for VDC/BIM related to the specific project.

Collaborate with the Project Operations Manager and VDC/BIM Manager to create a VDC/BIM plan, including layout lead and coordination schedules.

Assist the Superintendent with BIM layout efforts prior to the project.

Review drawings regularly with the VDC/BIM Manager and Superintendent to ensure quality control and constructability.

Pre‑Fabrication

Work with the Superintendent, Construction Resources Director, and Project Operations Manager to create and maintain a pre‑fabrication plan.

Coordinate delivery of pre‑fabrication assemblies and the installation schedule.

Explore opportunities for pre‑fabrication across all project components.

Material Management / Jobsite Logistics

Create and maintain a material management and logistics plan, defining material needs, ordering, receiving, and organization.

Implement quality control to ensure all materials meet project specifications.

Collaborate with the Superintendent, Field Operations Manager, and Project Operations Manager to develop the plan before project start.

Adjust the plan as needed with vendors and partners throughout the project.

Procure, maintain, and manage equipment, including company vehicles, rentals, tools, and leased items.

Scheduling

Maintain project schedules, organizing crews and manpower projections.

Develop a field organization chart with the Superintendent and coordinators.

Update schedules and manpower projections weekly.

Subcontractor Management

Oversee all subcontractors’ scope of work.

Ensure timely completion of all submittal deliverables.

Monitor subcontractor manpower to meet the project schedule.

Guarantee that all subcontractor work meets project requirements.

Manage billing processes for individual subcontractors.

Safety

Create and maintain a safety plan with the Superintendent, outlining daily reports, PPE management, and accident management.

Develop a project‑specific safety plan with the Onsite Safety Manager.

Ensure adherence to both the project‑specific safety plan and company standards.

Quality Control

Create and maintain a QA/QC plan with the Project Superintendent, covering specifications, code compliance, internal, contractor, and owner punch lists.

Develop QA/QC processes with the Onsite QA/QC Manager.

Ensure project adherence to the QA/QC plan and company standards, including testing and documentation.

Review and analyze project documents, manage construction activities, coordinate field installations, and maintain client relationships within cost, time, and quality limits.

Track material and equipment procurement, and prepare RFIs.

Cost/Change Management

Review, price, and manage all project scope and change coordination, ensuring compliance with company, GC, and owner standards.

Track and follow up on open change orders.

Prepare and submit monthly WIP reviews and cost‑tracking reports with required metrics.

Provide accurate monthly reports on job set‑up, contract amounts, change orders, costs, work hours, billing, and procurement status.

External Relations

Develop and nurture relationships with owners, representative architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

Participate in committees, trade-related activities, and special events.

Qualifications

BS/Construction Management or equivalent studies/experience preferred.

5+ years of Project Management experience with an Electrical Contractor.

Proven people, process, and performance management skills.

Knowledge of financial software, accounting practices, change order pricing, and billings.

Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.

Ability to review drawings for change order pricing and material procurement.

Proficiency in information analysis and budget setup.

Strong written, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to multi‑task and manage history of past projects.

Spectrum experience is a plus.

Estimation software experience is a plus.

Electrical field experience is a plus.

Leadership skills: motivate team members, maintain discretion and confidentiality, and exhibit a positive “can do” attitude.
