Discover your exciting role The Lead Electrical Designer participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: power, lighting, controls, grounding, and the like.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

Develops electrical construction documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer and project manager

Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)

Participate in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions

Works with project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for equipment and electrical distribution systems

Performs equipment selection research and develop recommendations

Participates in Services during Construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, site observation, preparation of field-issued sketches, participation in construction meetings, and preparation of preliminary and final punch lists, and as-built drawings

Executes work within approved budgets, develop progress reports, and interface with clients and others

Develops projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications and contractual requirements

Produces construction documents and calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines

Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables

Supports business development activities, including preparation of materials for qualifications, proposals, and interviews

Performs technical tasks using applicable standards, procedures and codes

Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others

Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts

Mentors interns and junior members of project teams

Other duties as assigned

Show your expertise Minimum Required

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Associate’s degree with technical focus preferred

8+ years of experience

Autodesk Building Systems Software

Preferred

Advanced Technology experience preferred

Experience working within a team environment

Experience in the quality control review process

Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
