Position Description As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of day‑to‑day restaurant operations. You will lead teams, solve problems, handle stress, and inspire guests and staff to deliver a passionate experience every day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving unit objectives.
Cultivates a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
Responds immediately to verbal guest complaints and guides staff to resolution.
Prioritizes guest contact and meets required table visit standards.
Maintains departmental inventory levels.
Prepares and presents product uncompromisingly meeting company standards.
Schedules employees to meet sales demands.
Maintains effective safety and security programs.
Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of orientation, training sessions, meetings, and implementation of company policy.
Participates in the development of employees using one‑on‑one and performance documentation.
Provides fair feedback on a regular basis and works with employees on development.
Monitors employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action.
Ensures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
Controls cost in the assigned department.
Complies with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as required.
Prepares accurate daily paperwork.
Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed health department and Flynn standards.
Provides a role model for managers and employees.
Develops skill on all store‑related technology.
Is willing and able to work in all positions as needed (line cook, expo, seating, bartending).
Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills.
Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation Applebee’s® Assistant Managers: $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential for monthly bonus where applicable.
