As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of day‑to‑day operations at the restaurant. You are responsible for inspiring guests and staff to deliver an outstanding experience every day. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem‑solving, the ability to handle stress, and a passion for teamwork. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit. Cultivates a culture that reflects Flynn Applebee’s core values and beliefs. Responds immediately and corrects all verbal guest complaints. Prioritizes guest contact with required table visits established by Flynn Applebee’s standards. Maintains departmental inventory levels. Ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks. Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands. Maintains effective safety and security programs. Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation. Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director. Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates. Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers. Helps maintain a trained staff through employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and implementation of company policy and training systems. Participates in constant employee development using one‑on‑one and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations. Assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback, and works with them on development areas. Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action. Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures. Controls costs in assigned department. Complies with local, state, and federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM’s request and ensures completion. Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork. Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards. Provides a role model for managers and employees. Develops knowledge of all store‑related technology. Must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant (cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.). Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies. Education and Experience
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience. Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus. Compensation and Benefits
Applebee’s® Assistant Managers: $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential for monthly bonus, where applicable by location. Competitive wages, profit sharing/bonus, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, paid vacation, paid sick leave. Physical Standards
Work various shifts ranging in hours, including weekends. Stand and move well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours in length. Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds in weight. Read and write to facilitate communication. Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
