Heavy Equipment Operator - Haul Truck | Saiia Construction Company LLC, a MasTec Company Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator with Articulating Haul Truck experience in the Steele, AL area. Responsibilities Excavator Operation – Operates excavator to dig holes, trenches, and transport earth, gravel, and industrial by‑products. Starts engine, operates hydraulic attachments, and may use GPS grade technology. Bulldozer / Grader Operation – Operates bulldozer or grader to level and distribute soil and other materials, push or clear obstacles, and may use GPS grade technology. Rock / Articulated / Dump / Roll‑Off Truck Driver – Operates dump truck to transport and dump loose materials, turning controls to tilt, dump, and move the vehicle. Front‑End Loader Operator – Operates loader equipped with bucket or scoop to lift, transport, and load bulk materials, using levers and pedals to control the machine. Compactor Operator – Operates heavy rolling machine to compact soil, sand, rock, or gravel, controlling speed and pressure to achieve specified compaction. Scraper / Tractor Operator – Operates scraper or tractor‑drawn equipment to move, haul, and grade earth on construction sites, controlling loading gates and attachment movements. Water Truck Driver – Operates water truck to transport potable water and spray dust‑control water, performing routine inspections and maintenance. Qualifications Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in using email, smartphone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Must maintain acceptable attendance standards per the employee handbook. Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
