Vaco is hiring for a
Property Staff Accountant Location: Florida, Georgia or Tennessee Compensation: $27-$28/hour Staff Accountant – Property Management
This role is designed to support the accounting team by offloading non-analytical tasks from the GL Supervisors, allowing them to focus on higher-level work. The Staff Accountant will handle month-end preparation, documentation, and various investigative and administrative tasks that keep the property accounting function running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data. Key Responsibilities
Banking & Reconciliation Support Pull and organize large volumes of monthly bank statements for multiple properties. Create tickets for outstanding or unidentified transactions requiring follow-up. Assist with reconciling discrepancies and gathering necessary backup documentation. Month-End Close Support Ensure all documentation is properly stored and accessible for month-end processes. Upload, label, and maintain digital files in accordance with internal controls. Assist GL Supervisors with clean-up tasks and backlog items. Budget & Operational Assistance Help process simple budget approvals and route them to the proper reviewers. Support the team with investigative tasks such as researching missing information or clarifying coding details. Provide ad hoc support as directed by supervisors and managers across the accounting department. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 2 years of accounting experience; property management or real estate exposure is a plus but not required. Strong organizational skills and comfort handling high volumes of documentation. Proficiency in Excel and ability to work within accounting systems/ERPs. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established processes. Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and problem-solve. Ideal Candidate
Reliable, organized, and process-driven. Enjoys supporting a team environment and keeping workflows moving. Comfortable with repetitive or administrative accounting tasks that are essential to accurate financial reporting. Eager to learn property accounting fundamentals and grow within the department. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
