Position Overview Unit Secretary / Telemetry Monitor Technician at Acadiana Management Group, located at AMG Specialty Hospital – Central Indiana (Hancock Campus). This full‑time night shift role focuses on accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythm data, patient monitoring, and supporting the medical‑surgical team.

Responsibilities

Interpret cardiac rhythm strips every 4 hours, including rate, rhythm, PR interval, QRS, QT, signature and title.

Immediately report changes in patient rhythm to the Primary Care Nurse and post copies in the patient record.

Document arrhythmias and changes on the report sheet and hand complete, accurate reports to on‑coming technicians.

Operate telemetry monitor systems, speaker system, and phone system properly.

Continue rhythm strip monitoring during code blue events.

Complete emergency calls for staff promptly.

Track all monitored patients at all times.

Prepare charts with labeled rhythm strips and keep them prepped.

Maintain nutritional supplies, count before ordering, and keep par limits settled.

Update patient label book and insert completed rhythm sheets into patient charts.

Provide indirect patient care in the medical‑surgical setting and meet communication needs of patients, family, departmental staff, and medical staff.

Prepare and compile unit records.

Initiate directions from physicians and nursing staff.

Participate in performance‑improvement activities.

Adhere to regulatory‑agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.

Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Telemetry monitor experience required.

Ability to monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms.

Strong reading and written communication in English.

Articulate verbal communication and the ability to explain complex information.

Basic computer knowledge.

Excellent interpersonal and human‑relation skills.

Additional Information Shift differentials are paid for weekend shifts.
