Building Maintenance Worker
to join our growing Maintenance team for the day shift (6 AM – 3 PM) with flexibility. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and well‑maintained operation of the printing facility. This includes maintaining building systems, performing routine repairs, assisting with equipment upkeep, and supporting a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform general building maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify areas that need addressing and bring to the attention of the Facilities Supervisor.
Support production equipment maintenance by assisting maintenance technicians as needed.
Ensure facility safety systems (fire extinguishers, emergency exits, sprinklers, alarms) are functional and compliant.
Maintain lighting systems, change filters, replace fixtures, and make minor repairs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and supervisors.
Assist in maintaining grounds, parking areas, and building exteriors.
Monitor and maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in proper working condition.
Adhere to safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Work closely with maintenance technicians, production staff, and supervisors to address facility and equipment needs.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Provide support to other departments as required to maintain smooth facility operations.
Foster a cooperative and respectful work environment by demonstrating professionalism and reliability.
Provide support during facility renovations, equipment moves, or special projects.
Other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in building or facility maintenance, preferably in an industrial environment.
Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed.
Work Environment
Manufacturing/printing facility with exposure to noise, ink/chemicals, and moving machinery.
May require overtime, weekends, and on‑call availability depending on production needs.
