Job Description Summary MUSC Children’s After Hours and Specialty Clinics, we are a pediatric outpatient clinic that falls under the Shawn Jenkin’s Children’s Hospital at MUSC. During the day, we host a variety of pediatric subspecialists such as pediatric orthopedics, cardiology, and pulmonary, only to name a few. In addition to that, we provide a walk-in After Hours Care, which is a direct extension of our pediatric emergency department to serve our community during the hours when most pediatricians are closed.

This position requires variable shifts of day, evening, weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Description Greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone. Optimizes the patients’ experience and clinic efficiency time by scheduling appointments appropriately, either by phone or in person. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately and effectively. Collects co‑pays and prior patient balances. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Position also involves customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and referrals management. Ability to interact with medical professionals and other care team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Hours of operation: Shifts vary based on clinic needs Specialty Clinics: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday–Friday After Hours Care: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM Monday–Friday Generally: 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM Weekends and Holidays

Additional Job Description Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of work experience in a Medical Office, Call Center, and/or customer service business environment and a minimum of 6 months satisfactory work experience in MUHA Patient Access, or at least 6 months of medical related work experience is required.
