Employees in this role work under general supervision and perform a range of semi‑skilled maintenance tasks across multiple trades, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and custodial work. Responsibilities may include removing, replacing, or repairing light fixtures, switches and outlets, and testing electrical equipment following repairs. The position also involves assisting with carpentry projects, inspecting and repairing plumbing fixtures and pipes, and performing custodial duties within maintenance areas and other facilities. Flexibility is essential, as employees must be available to work any shift or schedule, with overtime required as needed. Facilities staff are considered essential personnel and may be required to report during emergency closures or inclement weather to perform critical functions, such as snow removal. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and other maintenance work. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of tools and equipment used to perform tasks. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Ability to use, clean, repair, and maintain equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees. Required Qualifications

Some experience in general building and plant maintenance with some basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work. Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Requires climbing and balancing. Must work indoors and outdoors year‑round. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors. Must be able to drive a mechanical vehicle. Must be able to work in high places. Compensation & Benefits
