Coordinator, Early Interventionist – East Tennessee State University Provide direct developmental services to Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) eligible children, ages birth to 36 months, and their families in home‑based and inclusive childcare settings in the counties of Sullivan and Washington.

All staff employed by ETSU Expanding Horizons Early Intervention Resource Agency (EIRA) are informed about the Rights of Infants and Toddlers under Part C of IDEA and share this information with families in a positive manner. All ETSU Expanding Horizons staff adhere to the TEIS Operations Manual and all updates on policies and procedures pertaining to home/community‑based developmental therapy providers under the auspices of the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) and the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD).

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of early childhood development, children with developmental delays, medical diagnoses and assessments/ curriculums, TEIDS, and the Family Guided=-Routines Based Intervention model.

Required Qualifications

BS or BA in early childhood special education, early childhood, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K‑12, elementary education, communication disorders, speech and language pathology, and/or related field. (Related field means a degree in social work, nursing, psychology, education administration, or sociology.)

Related field degrees require a minimum of 3 years of documented work experience working with children with disabilities from birth to 36 months.

2 years of experience working with children, birth to 36 months.

Preferred Qualifications

MA or MS in early childhood special education, early childhood education, family and child studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K‑10, elementary education, communication disorders, speech and language pathology.

Skills in case management.

Experience in developmental assessments and/or evaluations.

Direct work with children and families.

Computer/data entry skills.
