Assistant Manager I

and help drive store operations, customer service, and team development.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily store functions and activities.

Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.

Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.

Perform opening and closing procedures as required.

Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other communications related to store activities.

Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.

Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts).

Ensure the store floor and stockroom are well‑stocked, organized, and meet company standards.

Protect company assets, including store cash.

Enforce safety guidelines and company policies, ensuring all store associates follow them.

Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.

Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.

Keep the store clean, including bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required.

Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment required.

Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.

Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required.
