Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service Join the American Red Cross as a Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service. You will help collect life‑saving blood while delivering excellent customer service to volunteers and donors.

Job Overview In this role you will utilize customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process. Responsibilities include:

Collaborate with team to transport and set up equipment at collection sites.

Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors.

Follow all safety procedures while collecting blood donations that are delivered to hospitals.

Drive Red Cross vehicles and help set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.

Key Responsibilities

Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.

Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so donors feel comfortable coming back again and again.

Maintain detailed orientation throughout the shift to meet regulatory requirements.

Drive Red Cross vehicles and aid in the set up/tear down of equipment at donation sites. Minimum height 60 inches may be required.

Schedule

Variable shift Monday‑Friday or Tuesday‑Saturday with one additional weekday off.

Schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule is provided 2–3 weeks in advance.

Pay Information

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.

Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Physical ability to lift, push, pull heavy weights, stand or sit for long periods; may require minimum height 60 inches.

Basic computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).

Prior leadership experience.
