Passport Requirement Continued employment for this role will be dependent on ability to meet customer security requirements, including requirement to provide a valid passport for site access.

Responsibilities

Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency, including planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response.

Serve as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and any third‑party vendors, and act as the singular focal point for facility operations within a data center.

Maintain higher than 99.999% uptime for mission‑critical data center equipment.

Meet CET 2 requirements, with mechanical and/or electrical OEM factory‑specific training or experience preferred; strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Utilize safe working practices, lockout/tagout, SDS, good housekeeping methods, and common administrative software.

Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, mechanical riser drawings, OEM operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOP/SOPs.

Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment under CET3 classified procedures, logging activities in CMMS.

Assist a CET3/4 technician with classified procedures and train other technicians.

Perform daily walk‑throughs, documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, and alarm status to identify discrepancies and trends.

Implement site‑specific processes and procedures, including procedure creation, review standards, incident reporting, work order notification, and use of SharePoint for CE procedures and training content.

Master the first responder role during emergencies, complete associated drills, and understand site primary and secondary EOPs.

Operate and maintain MV/LV distribution boards, breakers, UPS, generators, batteries, ATS, AHU, DX units, chillers, evaporative washer systems, CRAC units, fuel systems, ASCO systems, BMS, EPMS, and fire alarm systems.

Navigate and interpret BMS and EPMS system state changes, alarms, and perform controlled shutdowns, start‑ups, and equipment rotations.

Disable and enable fire alarm control panels and systems, where applicable.

Maintain maintenance records per City, State, and EPA regulations, interpreting building codes and local/federal regulations for installations.

Identify required materials and parts to facilitate procurement, and use appropriate test equipment such as infrared scanners and vibration analyzers for diagnostics.

Diagnose heating and refrigeration cycles, using gas pressure tests, manifold gauge sets, temperature charts, and other routine maintenance tools.

Understand power density, HVAC system capacities, cooling and heat load/loss calculations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum 8+ years of experience with electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications

Possess a Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license, or equivalent.

Abilities

Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; demonstrate physical strength and stamina, following proper lifting techniques.

Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.

Work at heights up to 60 feet on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.

Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead routinely.

Have good vision (may be corrected), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.

Use a standard ladder within weight limits while carrying tools.

Recognize potential problems before they occur.

Apply general rules to specific scenarios and synthesize information to form conclusions.
