Summary
This position performs tasks required for the operation of hydraulic excavation equipment for the construction/upgrade of underground utilities, including communications conduit, gas, water, sewer, electric, and more. Responsibilities
Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free. Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely. Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work. Operate equipment to assist in placing underground utilities in conjunction with the crew. Identify utilities in the construction area and bore path. Connect/stub‑up conduit and wire, as required. Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities. Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite. Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment (timesheet, vehicle log, expense report). Adhere to all established company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned to help the team complete a project. Qualifications
One year of experience operating a directional bore drill. One year of Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, and Dozer experience. Class A CDL. Must be willing and able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays to assigned projects. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Pass pre‑employment drug test and criminal background screen. Pass DOT Physical. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications. Knowledge of utility depths and placements. General knowledge of construction practices. Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels. Ability to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to work 5–7 days a week, 10+ hours a day when necessary. Benefits
