Job Title
Dispatcher (Nashville, TN)
Location Reports to office located in downtown Nashville, TN.
Pay Range Starting $20/hr plus $4.57/hr in benefits.
Responsibilities
Efficiently manage and prioritize transportation requests from VA hospitals for disabled veterans' medical appointments.
Coordinate and assign transportation routes to drivers, taking into consideration factors such as appointment times, traffic conditions, and veterans' specific needs.
Maintain accurate records of transportation requests, scheduling, and completed trips using specialized software systems.
Communicate effectively with drivers, veterans, and hospital staff to ensure clear and timely communication throughout the transportation process.
Monitor real-time GPS tracking and communicate any changes or delays to drivers and relevant parties.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback from veterans, their families, and VA hospital staff.
Collaborate with the scheduling team to optimize routes, reduce wait times, and enhance the overall efficiency of transportation services.
Assist in resolving any logistical challenges or unexpected changes that may arise during transportation operations.
Uphold and promote safety protocols, ensuring that veterans are transported securely and comfortably at all times.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to continuously improve the quality of transportation services.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, transportation management, or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or customer service is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse individuals including veterans, drivers, and hospital staff.
Empathy and sensitivity towards disabled veterans' needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being during transportation.
Proficiency in using transportation management software and GPS tracking systems.
Problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
Ability to remain composed under pressure and make timely decisions to ensure on-time services.
Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operational needs.
