Department: 11903 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Food and Nutrition Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: variable hours 10:30 - 7pm; 1pm - 9:30pm Pay Range: $18.50 - $27.75 Education/Experience: High school enrollment, diploma, or GED equivalent.

Essential Functions

Monitors quality of product at stations, ensures recipe compliance, and adherence to departmental guidelines.

Ensures that productivity, delivery, and serving line start time schedules are met.

Minimizes product waste and controls cost. Follows portion control guidelines and manages food and supplies.

Oversees that all equipment and supplies are properly utilized, maintained, and handled to avoid breakage. Performs utility and dish room functions efficiently. Properly cleans items for use in department.

Contributes to overall positive patient and customer satisfaction striving to meet the highest service and quality standards.

Maintains a 97% or better sanitation rating from the Health Department by following sanitation policies and completing daily/weekly cleaning assignments. Maintains a double gold rating from NSF. Ensures that Sodexo standards are consistently being met. Department maintains a minimum average Gold Check score of silver.

Follows all workplace safety and sanitation rules and regulations helping to maintain a safe work environment.

Completes required in-service training, job specific training, annual Compliance and HIPAA training, and annual TJC/OSHA training.

Participates in departments performance improvement initiatives. Works as a team player and ensures that duties are performed accurately and efficiently. Provides support to other Food and Nutrition Services departments as requested by management.

Delivers, serves, and retrieves food trays in a safe, efficient, sanitary, as well as courteous manner, following proper protocol. Follows fire code and regulatory standards.

Demonstrates responsibility by interacting with patients, visitors, and staff as deemed appropriate. Resolves issues or concerns, provides assistance as deemed necessary.

Adheres to the hospital and departmental policies and procedures promoting a cooperative work environment. Demonstrates a personal responsibility and commitment to customer service and satisfaction by utilizing communication skills to interact with patients, customers, and staff to develop interpersonal relationships and team building.

Skills / Qualifications

Must be literate in English and able to follow instructions.

Ability to adjust to the needs of the department.

Desire to achieve high customer service standards.

Must be comfortable entering patient rooms and interacting with them.

Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including patients, visitors, employees, nursing staff, managers, and hospital staff.

Work Environment

May be required to work in all areas of the Food and Nutrition Services departments including kitchen and retail areas.

Exposure to wet tile floors and dangerous, sharp equipment.
