Patient Nutrition Representative – Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist
Department: 11903 Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center – Food and Nutrition
Status: Part‑time
Hours per week: 25
Schedule: Nights and weekends
Pay range: $18.50 – $27.75 per hour
Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred. Customer service experience required.
License/Certification: N/A
Essential Functions
Delivers, serves, and retrieves food trays/carts in a courteous, safe, efficient, and sanitary manner following proper protocol. Follows fire code and regulatory standards.
Contributes to overall positive patient and customer satisfaction, striving to meet the highest service and quality standards.
Stores and distributes food, supplies, and equipment throughout the hospital for customer and patient use.
Maintains a 97% or better sanitation rating from the Health Department by following sanitation policies and completing daily/weekly cleaning assignments. Maintains a double gold rating from NSF. Ensures that Sodexo standards are consistently met.
Follows all workplace safety and sanitation rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Completes required in‑service training, job‑specific training, annual compliance, HIPAA, and TJC/OSHA training.
Participates in departmental performance‑improvement initiatives. Works accurately and efficiently as a team player, providing support to other Food and Nutrition Services departments as requested.
Communicates with nursing staff as appropriate, resolving issues or concerns with employees, customers and/or departments, particularly meal delivery; provides assistance as needed.
Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures to promote a cooperative work environment, demonstrating personal responsibility and commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Skills & Qualifications
Literacy in English and ability to follow instructions.
Comfortable interacting with patients, families, and/or caregivers when delivering meals.
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including patients, visitors, employees, nursing staff, managers, and hospital staff.
Desire to achieve high customer service standards.
Ability to adapt to the needs of the department.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Work Environment May require work in kitchen, retail areas, nursing floors, and patient rooms. Exposure to wet tile floors and sharp equipment.
