MAINTENANCE SENIOR TECHNICIAN (LICENSED HVAC) (FULL TIME)
Location: TAMU PV MN - 100 University Drive, Prairie View, TX 77446. Openings at other locations within the school district available. Only online applications accepted.
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Full and part‑time flexibility may be discussed during interview).
Pay Range: $18.00–$27.00 per hour.
Job Summary Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facility’s engineering and maintenance functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
Construct, finish, install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, or related facilities, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
Clean, lubricate, service, repair, or diagnose malfunctions of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, and fire alarm systems with appropriate training, certification, licensing, and safety procedures.
Lead a group of workers on a project.
Teach maintenance skills to other department members.
Update work statuses, timing, and costs of repairs using company technical systems.
Oversee fleet maintenance support, including welding, plumbing, electrical, food‑truck kitchen maintenance, vehicle driving, on‑campus fleet troubleshooting, generator repairs, and general maintenance.
Review work of outside vendors and non‑licensed maintenance workers; create punch lists.
Determine manpower, material needs, and deadlines for jobs or projects.
Read blueprints, specifications, and models to understand work layout, and plan own work layout.
Make routine computations as needed.
Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete tests and inspections.
Respond to emergency problems and perform emergency repairs as needed.
Make recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
Serve as a member of the facility’s emergency response team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications May Include:
Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
Hold a specialization in one trade with a valid journeyman license issued by the state; must possess one of the following: Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, Journeyman Plumber License, Carpentry, Welding, Steam and Pipefitting, Masonry, or Electronic Instrumentation.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and models to learn work layout.
