Base pay range $18.00/hr - $24.00/hr

Summary Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role ensures proper documentation, scheduling, and communication with carriers, customers, and internal teams to support efficient product handling, delivery, and storage.

Essential Functions

Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing contents with manifests, invoices, or orders.

Prepare and process shipping documents including work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials appropriately.

Determine the most effective shipping methods using knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates.

Record and maintain shipment data such as weights, charges, space availability, damages, and discrepancies for reporting and accounting purposes.

Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipments, deliveries, and provide instructions as needed.

Communicate with customers to resolve discrepancies, damages, shortages, or other shipping-related issues.

Maintain correspondence with customers and carriers, ensuring proper documentation of receipts, invoices (if applicable), and tallies.

Work collaboratively with operations and distribution teams to schedule deliveries and resolve any nonconformance to specifications.

Provide assistance by answering telephones, resolving distribution center inquiries, and offering backup support to warehouse operations.

Follow attendance policy, reporting to work on time and prepared for assigned shifts.

Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 1 year of related experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.

Ability to perform in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals accurately.

Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and standard office equipment (calculator, photocopier, desktop computer).

Ability to build cooperative relationships, respond appropriately to feedback, and maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Education & Certifications

High school diploma or GED required.
