Description Provides patient focused customer service. Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions; collects patient financial liability payments and ensures that patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications and referrals. Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.

Salary $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Essential Functions Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Values, Vision, Actions and Promise in behaviors, practices and decisions.

Work Focus Researches, collects and analyzes information. Identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads through resolution. Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency and patient experience. Responsible for distribution of analytical reports.

Process Focus Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports and develop educational materials. Incorporates basic knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality and safety are prioritized. Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to readily acquire new knowledge.

Data Management & Analysis Researches and compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives. Synthesizes and analyzes data and provides detailed summaries including graphical data presentations illustrating trends and recommending practical options or solutions while considering the impact on business strategy and supporting leadership decision making. Leverages program and operational data and measurements to define and demonstrate progress, ROI and impacts.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.

Entry level position. Minimum one (1) year customer service experience. Patient Access experience preferred.

Additional Qualifications (Nice to have)

Medical terminology required and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.

Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
