Repair Station Team Lead - 2nd Shift Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Repair Station Team Lead - 2nd Shift.

Hours: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Hourly rate: $38.00 per hour. Salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do Performs duties in the areas of planning, controlling and motivating the efforts of Team Members to meet customer requirements/order rates, ensuring that the Lean production process is running as designed, and meeting Safety, Quality, and Delivery, Cost and Inventory goals. The Team Leader regularly uses a process to track and follow‑up on assigned tasks. The Team Leader is responsible for directing team members and communicating with other team leads within and between shifts. This position works under the guidance of the Value Stream Manager and Front Line Leader, exercising initiative and independent judgment as needed.

Primary Functions

Leads a team of hourly personnel in a specific department to fulfill customer requirements and order rates by producing quality products in a safe and timely manner utilizing standard work.

Provides technical assistance with set‑up of fixtures, tools, and equipment, standard work, drawing, interpretation, and specification clarification.

Uses effective written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve specific goals. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); MFG PRO.

Aligns resources, people, and work. Leads the team start‑up meetings and shift changes. Conducts production and floor checks.

Establishes preventative actions to meet specific Safety & Environmental Goals and conducts regularly scheduled 6S and safety practices.

Coordinates product schedule work orders with Front Line Leader, Supply Chain Buyer/Planner.

Manages daily and weekly production levels to support site forecasts.

Conducts training and performs audits as required.

Investigates production problems to determine cause and resolution.

Drives key metrics such as on‑time delivery, utilization, scrap reduction, and overtime.

Maintains equipment and generates maintenance requests as needed.

Works in a team environment.

Serves as backup to Front Line Leader.

Facilitates training and mentoring of personnel.

Qualifications Basic Qualification

H.S. Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Tig‑Welding manufacturing processes.

Position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR; all applicants must be U.S. persons.

No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within the immediate Beltsville area (50 miles) will be considered.

1 year of experience working in a repair station.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of leadership experience.

Position Criteria

Must be able to read and write English.

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.

DOT Safety Sensitive.

Proficient in advanced Blueprint reading & GD&T.

Strong mechanical/technical aptitude.

Computer skills.

Detail oriented.

Previous leadership experience and knowledge of MFGPRO preferred.

Possible exposure to radiation through XRF device scanning.

Basic knowledge of lean tools.

Desire to learn and apply lean systems and tools.

Ability to read engineering prints and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills including basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

Capability to solve problems in situations with limited standardization through communication and teamwork.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment, OSHA regulations, manufacturing methods, routings, and standards.
