About The Opportunity The AR Market Leader provides supervision, direction, guidance, support, training, and oversight to AR Leads and AR Resources across specific Company/Companies, ensuring positive Accounts Receivable trends and results in assigned operations. This individual is a culture champion with excellent leadership skills, consistently positive AR results, and a pursuit of excellence. The primary objective is to provide supervision, support, guidance, and direction to a team of AR Resource partners to obtain and sustain positive AR performance. The role carries additional global responsibilities that serve all Ensign SNF/ALF related partners.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities Leadership
Lead AR in assigned Ensign Company/Companies, providing direct supervision to a team of diverse AR Resources. Lead different levels of employee expertise, advance/improve skill sets, and allocate resources over expansive geographic areas.
Act as a liaison with Operations, AR Leads, and AR Resources to address and resolve root cause concerns contributing to poor AR performance in the facilities.
Escalate issues/concerns to Company Market Leaders/President, Executive Directors, and AR Director as warranted.
Lead hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining of AR Leads and AR Resources, up to and including termination, when necessary.
Provide financial and analytical leadership to Operations Leaders through cluster meetings and other on‑site opportunities.
Travel 75%-80% within the US to provide world‑class leadership and service to Operations.
Progressively lead and participate in State Health Care Associations, as well as AR sub‑committees, when positions become available.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Technical
Expert level user of PointClickCare software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Design and manipulate Pivot Tables from Data Warehouse applications.
Design and deliver professional quality meetings and training programs.
Understand and interpret contractual language to provide guidance to others regarding unique contracts and billing circumstances.
Fluent expert in SNF Consolidated Billing language and rules as defined by CMS, plus innovative payment models being developed and marketed.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, integrated financial billing systems, and Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living billing, collections, accounting, and audit practices and procedures.
Analytical
Analyze, monitor, and improve all AR metrics and trends such as Credit Balances, Cash, DSO, and Bad Debt through routine communication with AR Leads, AR Resources, and Operations Leaders.
Provide analysis of AR metrics to communicate company results and improvement opportunities to Operations Market Leaders/Presidents/EDs, AR Leads, and AR Resources as needed.
Guide development of corrective action plans related to the Business Office and/or AR metrics.
Drill down into Financial Statements and provide analysis and direction to Operations on revenue and AR related transactions.
Develop root cause analysis and trending on factors driving AR results.
Managerial
Provide management and day‑to‑day oversight of the AR Leads and/or AR Resources, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating, expense reporting, compliance monitoring, and providing career development opportunities.
Adept at setting clear expectations, reviewing progress, providing feedback, guidance, and discipline to employees and holding them accountable.
Monitor and allocate AR Leads and AR Resources to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable and reduction of bad debt throughout the Company/Markets.
Actively participate in New Acquisitions, including calls and coordination of resources to ensure proper coverage and support up to and through completion of CHOW acceptance/completion.
Ensure compliance with company accounting initiatives, coordinate implementation of new policies, systems, and processes related to accounts receivable, and work with AR Leads and/or AR Resources and Operations to ensure issues are resolved/implemented in a timely and accurate manner.
Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with Ensign’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Integrity Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business or related Healthcare field.
5 years relevant financial and managerial experience, such as Regional or Divisional business office consulting/management for a multi‑site or geographically diverse organization.
Preferred location for this role is in the areas of Nashville, Knoxville or Memphis.
