THE POSITION
An exciting career opportunity awaits you! The Department of Human Services seeks a driven individual to join our team as a Fiscal Assistant at Clarks Summit State Hospital. In this vital role, you will contribute to timekeeping and accounting efforts by managing data entry, conducting analysis, overseeing sheltered workshop payroll, and handling various fiscal tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Enter payroll data and correct payroll discrepancies.
Manage employee schedule changes.
Reconcile purchasing card accounts payable.
Maintain bookkeeping for patient non-appropriated accounts.
Oversee fixed asset inventory and maintain a database and written ledger for fixed assets.
Prepare spreadsheets that contribute to the annual Cost Apportionment and Medicare Cost Reports.
Bill for sewer services rendered.
QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
An associate degree in accounting or business administration with six credits in accounting; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits will be considered met.
Must meet PA residency requirement.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full-time employment.
Work hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel required as needed.
No telework option.
Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
