The City of Virginia Beach Library is seeking a
full time Library Services Specialist II.

Library Services Specialist II Duties
Providing customer service in person, by phone and virtually.
Participating in departmental strategic teams to develop system policies and procedures.
Conducting reference interviews to assess customer needs; researching customers’ information requests using print and online resources; providing readers’ advisory services.
Communicating with a variety of audiences and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Marketing materials and/or creating displays.
Conducting library tours; providing technology assistance on computers and devices.
Checking materials in and out; assessing and collecting fines and fees.
Registering new library customers; performing basic information searches, using search engines, online databases, library catalog resources.
Serving on various departmental/branch teams for continuous process improvement to facilitate the operations of the branch.
Performing other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.
